I was in the Olympics

Ok, ok it was a dream.

I guess the Olympic Fever finally got to me….

Really, I just want to be able to say, “Yep, we jumped over the moon.”

So the fever got to me and I had this insane dream about being in the Olympics.

If you think Bad Eventer’s epic adventures are crazy in real life……

they are exponentially crazier in my subconscious.

It went something like this…….

I was somehow competing in the Olympics.

I was running around telling every one I could find that it had to be a mistake because I’ve only done a few Prelims.

But no one could be persuaded and I was told to get ready post haste because the jog was coming up.

That is when I found out that not only was I expected to do an Olympic dressage test the next morning….

(which I did NOT know, had not even seen, and no one had a copy.)

But I was also GROOMING for my coach who was also competing.

He was kicked back having a sandwich expecting me to have his horse ready for the jog.

I was considerably more worried about getting his horse ready than the certain death that would await Bad Eventer on an Olympic XC course………

I had 2 horses to BRAID and about 20 minutes.

Yeah. Right.

So I’m panicking about braiding horses for a jog……

freaking out about finding a copy of the dressage test so I could start learning it…..

never mind that I could never have actually RIDDEN it

and then I find out the XC is ALSO the next morning and the sun is going down………..

I haven’t seen the course, walked the course, or even seen a MAP of the course, and I’m supposed to jump around it the next day without ever having seen it…….

Absolute total panic had set in……

When thank goodness I woke up.

This is what happens to Bad Eventer when she sends in her first show entries for the season.

Bad Eventer does it again………. in her sleep.

Hey! I've been lurking for a while, finally coming out of the shadows. I have crazy eventing dreams ALL THE TIME. We're talking showing up at a horse trial and they're calling my name to enter the dressage ring and my horse is STILL ON THE TRAILER crazy. Just wanted to let you know you aren't alone 😉
