I’ve been wanting to do a Tough Mudder for quite awhile.
One thing that had been holding me back is that Tough Mudders require teamwork to get over most of the obstacles…..
………and for some odd reason I couldn’t convince anyone to join me in my get wet, cold and muddy adventure.
But I finally picked a date and beyond shockingly the BadEvent husband said he would go.
This was a big turn around because years ago when he found out ice water was involved………
he had adamantly vetoed the proposal.
So our team of TWO headed off to do the muddiest Tough Mudder there is.
The idea of 20 crazy obstacles is one thing.
And 10-12 miles between them, well that’s another.
But when the 10+ miles is almost completely under shin deep mud………….
well that brings an entire new level of agony challenge to it.
The trail was an obstacle of its own.
I actually went out of my way NOT to learn about too many of the obstacles after I found out about this one.
STUFF OF NIGHTMARES!
That would be 50 feet of water with a cage above it & about 10″ to breathe. You definitely can’t get your head all the way out of the water. All I could think about was the team they’d have to send in after me…………………….
I had several trapped-under-water nightmares about this whole concept & the dread had set in. Before we got there I had strongly considered skipping that obstacle, but as I walked up to it a man next to me with one arm dove right in.
Then BadEventer had NO POSSIBLE excuse, so off I went! Here’s the video!
I think the Pyramid Scheme was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. Check out the BadEvent Husband being held upside down holding up 4, yes FOUR people. I think 5 or 6 people were holding him. Here’s the video!
The mud was relentless and the obstacles were actually refreshing breaks from the trail!
I think this is my favorite sign of all time. I’m going to hang it everywhere.
We did every obstacle & 10+ miles of swamp!
BEFORE!
DURING!
AFTER!
We did it!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bad Eventer is Tough Mudder Tough!!
