My last outing of 2014 with TheWonderPony was a bit of a rider fail.

Of course he is TheWonderPony so he jumped around, but I was nothing but a hindrance.

We added a stride in every line, and I tugged everywhere I shouldn’t……….

This weekend I headed out on course looking for redemption.

I was determined to take my foot OFF THE BRAKE PEDAL.

We jumped around and it was better…………I thought it was A LOT better!

Speed freak, that’s me!!

Then my fabulous coach finds me at the finish line and says, “NO NO NO, you added everywhere! You have the most amazing brave horse……..you have to GO FORWARD!”

I couldn’t believe it, I thought I was BLAZING around that course!

I argued a bit, and said that it was actually MUCH more forward than my last outing………which I considered a big improvement……….

We agreed to watch the video together and see just how fast (or slow) I was going.

I waited for the evidence with much anticipation……..

When I got the video I was ready to see my RACE HORSE SPEED!

Um…………….

Well………………..

Where I thought I was galloping, it looked like a hunter round.

Where I should have been kicking………..I was trotting………………..

Maybe……. next time…………. Bad Eventer can let off the parking brake………….
