A Dusty Tale by an Honorary Bad Eventer! GUEST BLOG

I had such a very Bad Eventer week that I just have to share with you.

After a fantastic free jumping session on Monday, where my 5 year old OTTB cleared the 4′ standards over a 3’3″ oxer…….

OK, ok, this isn’t him, this is 3yo Connemara Lazer Bluebell

we had a disastrous run-in with a set of 2′ tires that involved rearing, pawing, and threatening to throw oneself on the ground because they were just Not Possible.

A cookie solved the problem and got baby horse jumping them perfectly again.

Then yesterday, at our second XC schooling of the year, baby horse jumped in the water happily and splashed around like a professional.

Five minutes later, as my trainer walked us over to the next jump I was suddenly straddling my horse with both feet on the ground, because he decided a dust bath was exactly what we both needed. I bailed, and he happily covered himself and my saddle in dust.

Honorary Bad Eventer & her Dusty Pony!!!

So…. would that count as a rider fall in competition?

From Bad Eventer:
As long as it’s not related to the jump, I think you’re still within the rules!!! Surely the TD would be laughing too hard to call it Dangerous Riding!

Thank you for the Tale Nicole! This definitely earns Bad Eventer status!
