A couple years ago I decided that I was spread too thin…..

and what I needed were a couple quality horses that would get me where I wanted to go.

I had A LOT of horses………… (and no I will not tell you how many.)

I enjoy raising babies, and I have a reputation for training quiet, agreeable…..

ponies.

As much as I LOVE my ponies, when I wake up every morning, I’m still 5′ 9″ and completely unsuitable to ride them.

Being TALL & Bad Eventer…….

the likelihood of me piloting the next ‘Teddy’ around at Advanced is……..

ZERO.

I sold the ponies…..

and the projects………….

and the extras…………

and decided to focus on TWO competitive horses.

Then the super star came up sore………

And there will definitely be a Bad Eventer tale about MRIs and veterinarians and witchcraft…….

And then I came to a sudden stop, with super star number two………..

Bad Eventer riding a green horse…… at Prelim………………..

not such a good plan.

The fact that we got as far as we did is…… impressive.

But I’ve learned the hard way that the quickest way to mess up a green horse is to consistently scare them on cross country.

And let’s face it.

Bad Eventer …….OWNS………scary.

I read a riding book as a child that said very emphatically, “Every accomplished rider RUINS 10 horses before they learn how to ride.”

Wow.

That’s a pretty horrifying concept.

and Bad Eventer definitely has a few notches in her belt………

After galloping down to the biggest ditch jump of my life………

and “blowing” it……….

I knew I wasn’t the rider to be on the green horse the next time he sees one of those jumps.

Here’s a video I took of PDuddy gettin’ it done…..at a ditch jump I heard another 4 star rider call “JUST AWFUL”!!!

I commented later that I needed to learn how to give my horse that kind of ride……

The fact that at that moment ANYONE felt it was important to point out, “Well, you’re not Phillip Dutton”…….. is still a sore spot……………

Hi…..I’m Bad Eventer. Have we met??

Bad Eventer is well in touch with her riding abilities……or rather………lack of………..abilities……………

So the Evil Twin has gone off to bootcamp……..to get braver with a better rider….

and the Wonder Pony is still enjoying his beach side vacation……..

I suppose…..’enjoy’ is probably not the right word…..

In the interim………….

I guess I’ll be riding the pig.
