That was definitely the quote for the weekend.

And for once,

it wasn’t Bad Eventer.

Instead Bad Eventer’s weekend started out with…… a dog bite.

How a veterinarian drives 1200 miles from home (where there are PLENTY of mean dogs) to start out the weekend being rather viciously attacked by a dog is beyond me.

Perhaps he smelled the D V M…….

After my unlucky friend tested out her air vest….. and was describing the EMTs……

Bad Eventer briefly considered having those EMTs look at her dog bite.

Only very briefly.

After all……there are some personal grooming issues many riders who wear long pants all day…..might skip…… when sleeping in a horse trailer with limited hot water.

The day I arrived……. I was bitten by a dog….

then I rode in the rain…..

AND I discovered the only pair of boots I had packed were not even a little bit water proof,

Seemed like it had to go uphill from there……….

Next I walked the Advanced course with a group who were all running advanced…..

The Bad-Event-Groom and I like to play a little game. We walk the big courses deciding one fence at a time if we would jump it.

It goes something like…….

Oh yeah, no problem.

Sheesh, this one is so easy, I’d jump it on YOUR horse!!

Until we get to something…….so terrifying……..

that we decide we are absolutely – for sure – OUT.

I MENTALLY made it around the Advanced course to this bank.

At which point, I let everyone know that Bad Eventer was retiring here…………
NO WAY, NO HOW, UNH UH……..

Have I mentioned that I have a bit of a phobia about…..up banks?????

Yeah………….

Forget that.

Then I walked the Intermediate course where I decided at the same bank complex I was hugely relieved that I wasn’t jumping the red numbers…….they combined a bank and a corner………..how mean is that??!!!

and then, very WET and very tired I walked my itty bitty little Prelim course.

EXACTLY WHEN DID PRELIM BECOME the BABY DIVISION????

HOW ON EARTH DID THAT HAPPEN?????
